Steven Torres is the author of the Precinct Puerto Rico series featuring Luis Gonzalo. Steven's parents moved to the United States from Puerto Rico in the 1950's. Steven was born in the Bronx in 1969 and lived in Puerto Rico briefly in 1980. He attended Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan. He worked for the New York Public Library for seven years while going to college and has taught at Bronx Community College, Yeshiva College, Utica College and Manchester Community College.
